About N.D. Byma

N.D. Byma is a children’s author and storyteller from Hillsboro, Oregon. His stories are filled with heart, gentle wisdom, and uplifting messages—crafted to help children, young people, and the grownups who care for them, to navigate life’s big questions.

Often illustrated by local artists, his books have been embraced by teachers, counselors, pastors, doctors, parents, and—thanks to a collaboration with the Hillsboro Hops—even professional sports teams. Each story is designed to make big ideas feel simple, and to help readers of all ages feel seen, heard, and loved.

Nicky, as he prefers to be called, is always creating. When he’s not writing or reading aloud at school visits and local events, you’ll often find him teaching music or cooking classes—always looking for ways to share what he loves with others.
